Former Republican Governor Bill Weld endorses Libertarian Phil Anderson for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin

Former Republican Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld, the Libertarian Party nominee for Vice President, has endorsed Phil Anderson for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin. “It is my fervent hope that when the votes are counted this year, the Libertarian Party will have vaulted into a position where all of our historical struggles for recognition will seem a thing of the past,” said Governor Weld. “I thank Phil for joining us in this journey, and for the tremendous efforts he is extending to support our cause!”

Governor Weld’s endorsement is noteworthy, as he is relatively new to the Libertarian Party, and has experience working with numerous Republican and Democrat Senators during his tenure as Governor of Massachusetts. “I am particularly pleased with Bill’s endorsement, as he didn’t really have to make one. He’s worked with Russ Feingold before, and is aware of Ron Johnson’s record in his former party,” says Anderson. “Both he and Gary Johnson have expressed their confidence not only in my positions and principles, but also in my ability to serve the citizens of our nation effectively in the Senate.”

Governor Weld further stated: “I could not be more grateful for his service not only as our leader in Wisconsin, but for joining the Libertarian Party ticket as a candidate as well! I endorse his candidacy and wish him Godspeed and success in the election.”
